Sherwood Studio's latest product ... ROYAL

Sherwood Studio released her newest product

at Scrapbook Graphics yesterday, 1/3/2014. (The name is linked!)

The kit is full of amazing color and texture, and the elements are definitely REGAL!

In Texas, the closest thing we have to royalty is the annual migration of MONARCH BUTTERFLIES which pass through Central Texas in the Fall on their trek to their winter home in Southern Mexico.  I find this migration marvelous.  The butterflies that make the trek south, have NEVER been there, but they end up on the same mountain every year!  You can find out more about this fabulous annual trek here

I was fortunate to see the migration enmasse one Autumn at Bend State Park near Lampasas, TX ... unfortunately that was long before I had a camera constantly in my hand, so the only pictures of the mass of butterflies exist in my head!  The trees' leaves were completely hidden by this swirling mass of orange butterflies!  Truly an amazing site!  Last Winter Mike and I attended the Premier weekend of an IMAX film called FLIGHT OF THE BUTTERFLY at The Bob Bullock History Museum  ... the 3-D film tells the story of the professor from Toronto, Canada who enlisted the help of volunteers all over Canada and the United States in searching for the place the Monarchs went each winter.  A young couple finally located them on the top of a mountain in Mexico in November 1969.  In January 1970, the professor and his wife traveled to the site, and confirmed that there were Monarch there that had been tagged the Autumn of '69 in Toronto, Canada.  The young woman now resides in Austin, and was present at the Premier!  It was nice to talk to her!  If you get a chance to see this IMAX film, don't miss it!

I am an avid butterfly photographer, and have a few perfect (I think!) shots!  One of those is the picture I used in this layout.  Location:  San Antonio Botanical Garden, Date:  September 26, 2010.
